    HI Everyone,

I am in the process of making some leather totes.  Since they will be big enough to hold laptops, etc I am very interested in hearing how others reinforce the point on the bag where the straps will connect.   I am confident in the strength an security of my straps but not so confident about how to attach them securely to the bag so that they do not pull away at that point.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Hi Stephanie,

Many options, what leather are you using? If it is heavy enough just stitching is enough. If not you might put a scrap piece of leather inside and then go through both layers with your stitching. Something else you might take into consideration is the placement the attachment. With a lot of weight the straps can pull your bag out of shape without proper support and placement.  Sure others have ways to accomplish this as well. Pics might help as well.
